The Future Is Bright

The future is looking brighter from where I stand today. In the course of the past week we have made some giant steps to our new future. For me personally I decided it was time to finally live on the edge and do what I have talked about for the past 8 years.

I bought this for myself!!!

As I mentioned in a past post, one of first major goals is housing this year. We have been working the past couple of weeks on meeting that goal. A lot of time has been put into getting our place cleaned up and ready to move in to. While there are still a few odd things that need to be done, we now have the keys to the place. We are going to start moving stuff over the next week with the bulk of it being done during my days off next week. It has been almost 3 years since we've had our own place, so we are very excited about it!

Until next time....

What a drive

What a drive to work it was tonight. 30MPH all the way due to the ice! Made it on time with just a few minutes to spare.

Another year has started!

It seems like just yesterday that I had posted what our 2011 goals were for our family but, in the blink of an eye the year has gone and we continue to struggle along our path. Frequent setbacks are becoming common place for us. We often remind ourselves that the struggles we go through in life is what will bind our family together.

Now that 2012 is here, it is time to move forward. We must move on from the past and let nothing but the memories move on. This year we are doing things differently! This year there is no long list of goals! This year will be a year to look back on and say "That was the start of our new lives". We only have 1 goal for this year. To be better than what we are now....

Our first step is housing...
We currently live with my mother in her 4 bedroom house. 3 years ago when we moved in it was suppose to be just a couple of months. We have no one to blame but ourselves. Our lack of focus on what was truly important put us in this position. Over the past year we have got our spending under control, our focus redirected, and our future insight.

Moving on...
We have found our family a decent 4 bedroom home for rent on the other side of town. While it is not currently the best house in the city it does provide great potential. The owner of the home has remolded about 85% of it. For the most part it just needs the finishing touches done (trim put up, yard cleaned up, and some other odds and ends). We will actually be the first person he has ever rented a home too. His family just recently moved closer to the college they attend and he doesn't want to let the home just sit empty to decay. We are looking at the first of March to move in, hopefully this will be our first major step to a new life.
